The film’s directors Anthony and Joe Russo appeared at a Cleveland convention over the weekend with the latter teasing that the new film has more of an aggressive tone than the previous two. He tells Cleveland.com: “We really did a radical reinterpretation of Captain America in Winter Soldier. We were twice as aggressive in tone and execution on Civil War.”
This follows on from the pair’s comments last week that the film’s ending is set to irrevocably alter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that Spider-Man won’t show up until the other heroes have taken their respective sides – Spidey ultimately forming a bond with one key character.
“Captain America: Civil War” opens in cinemas in the first week of May.
