Though she’s been playing the part of Wonder Woman for over a year, much of actress Gal Gadot’s work in the role has yet to be seen with the rest of it coming next year in both the “Wonder Woman” solo film and first “Justice League” movie.
As a result she hasn’t done much press about it as yet but one topic that has come up again, and will probably be mentioned a few times in coming years, the discussion over the character’s sexuality.
In September, the comic’s ongoing scribe Greg Rucka indicated he had a personal belief that Wonder Woman had same-sex relationships before leaving the island of Themyscira – a topic several previous Wonder Woman comic book writers in the past have suggested.
Gadot herself was asked about the subject last month and stated: “It”s not something we’ve explored [in the film]. It never came to the table, but when you talk theoretically about all the women on Themyscira and how many years she was there, then what he said makes sense. In this movie she does not experience any bisexual relationships.”
Now in a new interview for Israeli TV (via Batman News, Gadot explored the question further and suggested actress Halle Berry as her preferred pick for a possible lesbian relationship for Wonder Woman in a potential sequel. Berry has yet to comment on the idea.
The most recent trailer launched on Thursday and has already racked up 13 million views on the official Warrners YouTube channel and over 17 million views on its Facebook page.
“Wonder Woman” arrives in cinemas on June 2nd 2017.
