Haley Bennett (“The Girl on the Train”), Jason Clarke (“First Man”) and Riley Keough (“Hold the Dark”) have been set for the Antonio Campos-directed drama “The Devil All the Time” at Netflix.
The story is based on Donald Ray Pollock’s American gothic novel which takes place in a forgotten backwoods Ohio town where a storm of faith, violence and redemption brews.
Out of desperation to save his dying wife, Willard Russell turns to prayer which succumbs to sacrifice. This sets his son (Tom Holland) on the path from bullied kid to a man who knows when to take action.
A serial killer couple, a faith-testing preacher, and a corrupt local sheriff also figure into the action while Mia Wasikowska, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard, Eliza Scanlen and Sebastian Stan co-star.
Antonio and Paulo Campos co-wrote the script while Jake Gyllenhaal, Riva Marker, Randall Poster and Max Born are producing. Filming begins this month in Alabama.
