“Free Fire” and “High Rise” director Ben Wheatley’s “Tomb Raider” sequel is reportedly gearing up to kick off filming in February/March somewhere in the UK reports HN Entertainment.
The first film shot both at Waner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England and at Cape Town Film Studios in South Africa. Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander is back in the role of Lara Croft, though it’s unknown if her co-stars Kristin Scott Thomas or Daniel Wu will be returning.
Wheatley will helm from a script penned by Amy Jump. Earlier this month the helmer had previously been planning to team with Vikander for the action thriller “Freak Shift” which sadly fell apart, but then this opportunity came along and as a big game fan he pounced on it. MGM Studios/GK Films will release the film March 19th 2021.
