Plans to film some scenes from the upcoming “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” in Brazil have hit a snag due to a recent violent incident in one of the city’s hotels prompting security concerns.
AFP reports that Summit Entertainment has been planning to shoot several scenes from the film in Rio de Janeiro around the end of the year, essentially right at or near the beginning of the dual film project’s shooting schedule.
However a brief siege last weekend saw gunmen taking 35 people hostage at Rio’s Intercontinental Hotel. As a result, plans to shoot in Rio now look to be in jeopardy, though Summit is said to be discussing the issue with government officials.
A Summit spokesperson says they are “continuing to scout locations within the country” in a statement to RadarOnline.
