Warner Bros. Pictures is working with director Alex Timbers (“Rocky: The Muiscal,” “Peter and the Starcatcher”) on a Broadway musical adaptation of Tim Burton’s iconic horror comedy “Beetlejuice”.
As it’s so early there’s no real details on what the production will entail beyond Timbers’ involvement and the source material, let alone casting. One likely number though will be film’s famed “Banana Boat Song (Day-O)” sequence.
Timbers was slated to direct Disney’s stage musical version of “Frozen” but was replaced recently. The “Beetlejuice” musical is currently slated to premiere during the 2018-2019 season.
