Walt Becker (“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip,” “Van Wilder”) is set to direct the live-action/CG hybrid film adaptation of Norman Bridwell’s children’s book series “Clifford the Big Red Dog” at Paramount Pictures.
The story centers on a young girl who received a red puppy for her birthday that grew to be twenty-five feet tall. First published by Scholastic in 1963, the books have sold 127 million copies in print.
Justin Malen came onboard last year to pen the screenplay and now Ellen Rapoport is re-writing the script. Deborah Forte will produce.
