Two key faces in the supporting cast of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” are that of Colin Farrell and Zoe Kravitz. The former plays a key role in the action as the Auror Percival Graves, the latter is glimpsed only briefly as Leta Lestrange – a former flame of Newt Scamanader (Eddie Redmayne).
Speaking about the sequel that goes into production mid-next year, the film’s director David Yates tells Cinema Blend that Farrell will not be returning for the follow-up, but Kravitz will be back and get much more screen time. Regarding Kravitz, he says:
“Leta Lestrange comes into the second movie. She’s quite complicated and damaged and confused and Newt is absolutely still in love with her, so she has a kind of power over him, and she, yeah, she’s a kind of tragic figure, so we will see a bit more of her in the second movie.”
As for Farrell? “There’s no plans to bring Colin back for the sequel.” Production on the second ‘Beasts’ kicks off in July for a late 2018 release.
