The BBC has released the first trailer for “Howard’s End,” the new four-part BBC event series adaptation of E.M. Forster’s classic novel.
Hayley Atwell and Philippa Coulthard play sisters, Atwell is wooed by an older widower (Matthew MacFayden), while Coulthard attempts to help a young bank clerk (Joseph Quinn). Julia Ormond, Tracey Ullman, Alex Lawther and Miles Jupp also star
“Manchester by the Sea” director Kenneth Lonergan penned the adaptation and Hettie Macdonald directs the show which kicks off November 12th on BBC One and will premiere on Starz in 2018.
The story was previously adapted into the beloved 1992 Merchant/Ivory film.
