BBC Plans New “Alan Partridge” Series

Actor-comedian Steve Coogan’s most iconic creation, fictional radio and television presenter Alan Partridge, is returning with a new series for BBC One to screen next year.

The character was first created by Coogan and “Veep” creator Armando Iannucci for BBC Radio in 1992 before heading to TV and film and is considered one of the great UK comedy characters of the recent era.

This will mark his first full series appearance on the BBC since 2002. Additionally, BBC Two will air an hour-long 25th anniversary special later this year with Baby Cow Productions set to produce both.
