Ten years ago, the BBC’s “Planet Earth” was the most expensive nature documentary series ever commissioned by the network, the first to be filmed in HD, one of the very first titles to be released on Blu-ray, and ultimately one of the biggest success stories ever made in the field of documentaries.
Now, it returns with “Planet Earth II”. The six-part series, entirely shot in 4K, explores the characteristics of Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them. Using the latest in camera stabilisation, remote recording and aerial drone technology, the doco is able to get closer to the animals than ever before. The series airs on BBC One in November.
