The BBC and FX have released the first trailer for their upcoming three-part adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” this one starring Guy Pearce as Ebeneezer Scrooge. Andy Serkis also stars as the Ghost of Christmas Past
The project hails from “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight and is executive produced by Ridley Scott and Tom Hardy – the trio having previously teamed on “Taboo”. As a result, it is expected to be a quite dark but “timely interpretation of a timeless story” says Knight.
Joining Pearce and Serkis are Stephen Graham as Jacob Marley, Charlotte Riley as Lottie, and Joe Alwyn as Bob Cratchit. Vinette Robinson, Jason Flemyng, Kayvan Novak and Lenny Rush are also in the ensemble cast.
