The CW has picked up nine additional episodes of both of the network’s new Fall series “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew,” giving both shows full-season orders of 22 episodes each.
The full-season orders come after three airings each, and two weeks earlier than The CW’s backorders last Fall for “Charmed”. This is seen as a big vote of confidence from the network.
Both Batwoman and Nancy Drew have done well with delayed viewing, seeing major increases in overall audience once viewership from DVR and streaming comes in – “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew” posting 80% and 114% lifts respectively in 18-49 Live+7 numbers.
Despite both slipping since the premieres, “Batwoman” remains The CW’s second highest-rated series behind only “The Flash”. Both shows also are the first CW series to come after the end of the Netflix output deal, giving The CW full in-season streaming rights.
