It looks like Marvel’s two-part “Avengers: Infinity War” may not be the only superhero film that’s going to break the bank as Latino Review reports that the budget of Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has risen to a whopping $410 million dollars.
If true, that puts it on par with what is still the record holder for the single most expensive movie ever made – 2011’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”. That film came in at a total of $410.6 million according to Forbes, though it was helped out by $34.1 million in government rebates.
The report comes two weeks after the rumor that Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” movies might come with a $1 billion price tag, though it wasn’t clear in that report how extensive that estimate was. The article also indicates that Snyder’s two-part “Justice League” films, which will begin a sixteen-month production run soon, will be budgeted at a combined $500 million.
The report comes as several actors have been talking up ‘Dawn.’ one being Scoot McNairy who tells We Got This Covered that: “This is the superhero film that is more grounded in reality than any of the other ones…It’s a comic book movie, yes, but it’s very, very grounded.”
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits cinemas on March 25th 2016.
