Despite the negative reviews, 31% (5.1/10) on Rotten Tomatoes at the moment with just under two-hundred reviews counted, the cast and crew of Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” aren’t letting them get them down.
In his first interview after reviews were published, actor Henry Cavill tells Yahoo UK that fan reaction is the true test: “What is really going to matter, I believe, is what the audience says because they’re the ones who are buying tickets. The audience’s voice is loudest and after this weekend the audience, at least partly, will have spoken.”
Amy Adams, who plays Lois Lane, says viewers should go into the film without letting others’ opinions get in the way: “I know that Zack doesn’t make the movies – or none of us are making the movies – for the critics… [Fans know we’re] making the films for them.”
Gal Gadot says: “Yes, there’s a lot in this movie, but I think he nailed it.”
As for Snyder himself, he says he uses the ‘comic book’ aesthetic as much as he can because that’s what he’s familiar with: “I don’t know how else to do it 100%, so it is what it is.”
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is open in cinemas worldwide and is forecast to rake in around $300 million worldwide this weekend.
