The upcoming “Batman: Return to Arkham,” the bundled remaster of Rocksteady’s acclaimed video games “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and “Batman: Arkham City,” has been put on indefinite hold.
The game pack, originally set for a July 26th release on PS4 and Xbox One, no longer has a release date according to an official statement from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Here’s the statement in full:
“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”
Both games are being remastered by Virtuos using Unreal Engine 4 and included access to all additional downloadable content. Virtuos recently did the remasters of both “Final Fantasy X/X-2” and “Heavy Rain” for the PS4. ‘Return to Arkham’ will be priced at $49.99.
