Bates Motel Renewed, “Mad Men” Ratings

A&E has renewed the “Psycho” prequel series “Bates Motel” for a ten-episode second season. With Live+7 figures taken into account, the series premiere drew 4.5 million total viewers and 2.5 million in 18-49 and 25-54. That last figure jumped up 6% in its second outing.

Meanwhile, the sixth season of “Mad Men” premiered on AMC last night with a double episode that averaged 3.4 million viewers (with 1.4M in the 18-49 key demo). That number is the tiniest fraction down on last year’s season premiere at 3.5 million viewers (and 1.6M key demo).
