“Moonlight” director Barry Jenkins has signed up for his next project which will follow on from this year’s “If Beale Street Could Talk” at Annapurna Pictures.
Titled “Expatriate,” the thriller will star “Black Panther” leading man Chadwick Boseman and deal with a plane hijacking in the 1970s. Boseman and Logan Coles are co-writing the script.
The project will mark Jenkins’ first big studio project with Universal Pictures backing it. Mark Johnson, Mark Ceryak, Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will produce and no production date has yet been set.
‘Beale’, an adaptation of James Baldwin’s 1974 novel, opens late 2018.
