Antonio Banderas, Toby Sebastian (“Game of Thrones”) and Jordi Molla (“Bad Boys II”) are set to star in the Andrea Bocelli biopic “The Music of Silence”.
Based on Bocelli’s 1999 memoir, the film will include songs he composed when he was young but have never before been released. The story will be told from Bocelli’s view in the form of an autobiographical novel, naming his alter ego Amos Bardi.
He writes of a loving family that encouraged his musical gifts from an early age, of the blindness that became complete after a soccer accident, and his rise to stardom.
Sebastian will play Bocelli, Banderas will play Maestro, Molla and Luisa Ranieri will play his parents and and Ennio Fantastichini will portray his uncle.
Michael Radford (“The Postman”) directs from a script by Anna Pavignano and Michael Radford. Andrea Iervolino, Roberto Sassa and Monika Bacardi will produce. Shooting begins this month in Rome.
