Banderas, Rhys Meyers Join “Black Butterfly”

Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are set to co-star in Brian Goodman’s psychological thriller “Black Butterfly” for Ambi Group and Paradox Studios.

A remake of the French film “Papillon Noir”, Justin Stanley and Steve Hilts are adapting the screenplay about a down-on-his-luck screenwriter (Banderas) who picks up a drifter (Meyers) and offers him a place to stay.

When the deranged stranger takes the screenwriter hostage and forces him to write, their unhinged relationship brings buried secrets to light.

Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi, Silvio Muraglia and Marc Frydman are producing. Shooting is slated to begin next month in Italy.
