Christian Bale has entered talks to star in Scott Cooper’s revenge drama “Out of the Furnace” for Relativity, Scott Free and Appian Way says Heat Vision
Previously titled “The Low Dweller”, Brad Ingelsby penned the script about a man released after serving four years in prison. His hopes for a peaceful homecoming are thwarted when his younger brother is brutally murdered and he sets out for revenge.
Variety adds that Viggo Mortensen is wanted for the villain, while the likes of Casey Affleck, Taylor Kitsch, Garrett Hedlund and Channing Tatum are up for the younger brother role.
Robert Duvall is also being sought for a part in the film which Ridley Scott is producing. Shooting will likely take place in the Spring ahead of Bale’s “The Dark Knight Rises” press commitments and plans to shoot Terrence Malick’s drama “Knight of Cups” in the Fall.
