Bale Expects To Be Cut From Malick’s Next

Out doing the promotional rounds for “Out of the Furnace,” actor Christian Bale says he expects to only appear in one of Terrence Malick’s two new movie projects.

Malick shot both films – “Knight Of Cups” and an untitled Austin music scene project – starting in 2011 with some of the cast members crossing over. Bale is a major character in ‘Knight’ but only has a small role in the music project. He tells Thompson On Hollywood:

“With ‘Knight of Cups’ I was there the whole time. The other one I unfortunately wasn’t able to do everything I was meant to do, so I ended up doing like three, four days on that. Which in Terry’s world means you’re never going to see me in it.”

Malick famously crafts his film in post-production, to the point that scores of actors who film scenes are left on the cutting room floor. Bale says ‘Knight’ is currently deep in post-production:

“I’ve been doing that for months. Terry is on fire. They’re both going to get finished. There’s no doubt about it. WHEN, I can’t tell you. But they’re both going to get finished. He’s just lit up. He’s possessed.”
