Actors Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson have both been confirmed to return for the upcoming “Ghostbusters” film from director Jason Reitman.
The new movie serves as a direct sequel to the original two films and both Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts have been previously confirmed to reprise their roles.
Aykroyd confirmed his role in an interview with Joe Rogan Experience and says: “I’m not in the pictures so much anymore. We’ve got the Ghostbusters movie that we’re working on now and I will have to be performing in that.”
Hudson meanwhile revealed (via Flickering Myth) this weekend: “We’re shooting the new Ghostbusters right now, coming out next summer, so I’m hoping that you’ll enjoy it as much as the other movies that we’ve done. I know that I’m having a blast doing it..”
The news comes as original film director Ivan Reitman revealed new information about Paul Rudd’s character in the sequel – he plays a seismologist investigating some strange earthquakes while also teaching summer school.
The new film opens next Summer.
