“Avengers” Outgrosses “League” In 6 Days

Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” pulled in a further $24.7 million domestically on Monday and $60.3 million internationally, pushing its worldwide total to $725.5 million after just six days of release.

That figure pushes it past the total worldwide grosses of many superhero films across their entire run – Monday’s haul pushing it past the $658 million gross of the seventeen weekend run of last year’s “Justice League” along with the likes of “Captain America: Winter Soldier” ($714M), “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” ($709M), “Doctor Strange” ($678M), “Man of Steel” ($668M), and “Thor: The Dark World” ($645M) globally.

Lucasfilm has also released a tweet congratulating Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and company with a photo of Rey’s hand passing on the lightsaber torch to Iron Man’s hand as a symbol recognising how ‘Infinity War’ took the domestic opening weekend box-office record from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
