Austrian Kidnap Drama Becomes Feature

Constantin Film has struck a deal with Austrian woman Natascha Kampusch to develop a movie about her horrendous experience which made world headlines back in 2006 reports The AFP.

Kampusch was kidnapped at age 10 on her way to school in 1998 and for eight years was kept prisoner in a small custom-built cellar underneath a garage in a Vienna suburb by Austrian communications technician Wolfgang Priklopil.

In 2006 she managed to escape and contact the police while her captor committed suicide by jumping in front of a train. Bernd Eichinger (“Downfall”) is slated to direct the feature which will hit cinemas in 2012.
