That shagadelic super spy Austin Powers is making a come back – but not on the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter says that an “Austin Powers” stage musical is being developed by Mike Myers and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures.
Myers will pen the story which will serve as a prequel to the movie series but will not star in the production which will be set in London in the 1960’s. Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello’s music will be featured throughout.
“The Book of Mormon” co-director Casey Nicholaw is in talks to direct while Colin Callender and Sonia Friedman are producing.
