The marketing campaign for 20th Century Fox’s film adaptation of the “Assassin’s Creed” game franchise has come under fire. The musical choices and structural beats of several trailers now have seemed ‘off’ and actually makes what is a promising film on paper look less appealing.
One final trailer launched today though and this is the closest they’ve come to getting it right so far. There’s more suitable music, much more scale, the film’s macguffin revealed, and finally glimpses of characters barely seen in the previous previews such as those played by Jeremy Irons, Charlotte Rampling and Brendan Gleeson.
“Assassin’s Creed” stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard and is currently targeting a December 21st release in the United States.
