They must like what they’re seeing because word comes today that New Regency and 20th Century Fox are already moving forward with plans for a sequel to Justin Kurzel’s “Assassin’s Creed” film which doesn’t open until December.
Based on the famed video game franchise, Michael Fassbender stars in the film as a man who uses revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories – specifically that of his 15th Century Spanish ancestor Aguilar.
In the process he discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the powerful Templar organization in the present day. Fassbender would return for a follow-up, but no word if co-stars Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams and Jeremy Irons would be back.
