Ashley Judd is on the verge of signing a deal for the lead role in ABC’s “Missing” reports Variety.
The story follows a suburban mother who heads to Europe to find her son who has disappeared while studying abroad in Italy. She’s also ex-CIA so will stop at nothing to bring him back alive.
The ten-episode order will begin filming in Europe this Summer for either a fall or mid-season launch. This marks Judd’s first series work since NBC’s “Sisters” in the early 90’s.
Meanwhile, British star Jason Isaacs (“The Patriot,” “Harry Potter”) has been cast in the lead role in the NBC pilot “REM” says The Hollywood Reporter.
The strange storyline is said to center on “the simultaneous and parallel lives of a detective (Isaacs) who can’t let go of any aspect of his fractured family after a car accident.”
“Lone Star” creator Kyle Killen came up with the show while Howard Gordon (“24”) will serve as showrunner.
