Art, “Worst,” “Fosters” All Get Renewals

It has been a busy week on the renewal front with several shows picked up for another season.

Crackle has given its first original hour-long drama “The Art of More” a second season. All ten episodes were released at once on November 19th and have received over two million views so far with more than half of the viewers being new to its network.

In “The Art of More,” Christian Cooke plays a former soldier Graham Connor who uses his connections to an Iraqi smuggling ring to move his way up in the art world. Dennis Quaid, Cary Elwes and Kate Bosworth also star in the show and ten new episodes will begin shooting in early 2016.

FXX has renewed its critical darling comedy “You’re the Worst” for a third season which will screen next Summer. Creator Stephen Falk has also signed a multi-year deal with the network to create and develop new projects for FX Networks and FX Productions.

ABC Family has renewed its Jennifer Lopez-produced LGBT drama series “The Fosters” for a fourth season. Teri Polo and Sherri Saum star as a lesbian couple raising a blended family of biological and adopted children of various ethnicities. The renewal comes a month ahead of the network’s name change to Freeform, and the second half of the third season will kick off in January.

Finally, Amazon has given the green light to the Billy Bob Thornton-led and David E. Kelley created legal series “Trial”. Thornton plays a down-and-out lawyer who seeks redemption. William Hurt, Olivia Thirlby, Maria Bello and Molly Parker also star.
