Arrested Creator Goes “Guinea Pigging”

Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of acclaimed comedy series “Arrested Development,” is attached to make his feature directorial debut on “Guinea Pigging” at Fox 2000.

“Reno 911” creators Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant are penning the script based on Carl Elliott’s 2008 New Yorker article about a community of semi-professionals who spend their lives as test subjects for drug companies, hospitals and universities.

The comedy follows a a human drug-test subject who volunteers for testing at a pharmaceutical company and experiences unusual side effects.

Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, David Ready, Peter Principato and Jeremy Steckler are producing.
