After dropping out of directing “The Wolverine”, Darren Aronofsky remains very much an in-demand director with two studios now actively pursuing him to take the helm of two tentpoles.
Bad Ass Digest reports that Disney Pictures is in pursuit of Aronofsky to helm its “Maleficent” project.
That film, which tells the story of “Sleeping Beauty” from the evil witch’s point of view, was to be helmed by Tim Burton until he dropped out last week. David Yates has also been floated a another possibility.
Warner Bros. Pictures are also after him to direct its new biblical drama “Moses”. That film will tell the tale of the biblical character in his attempt to lead the Isrealites out of Egypt. Dan Lin is producing.
