Aronofsky Builds A “Machine Man”

Darren Aronofsky has agreed to direct an adaptation of Max Barry’s unfinished work “Machine Man” for Mandalay Pictures according to Heat Vision.

A kind of self-made “Six Million Dollar Man”, the story deals with a self-image obsessed engineer who replaces certain body parts of his own with hi-tech titanium replacements. Soon he’s on the run from several agencies who all want him to serve their own agendas.

Aronofsky is currently developing the screenplay with “Black Swan” co-writer Mark Heyman and will continue to do so until his deal for “X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2” kicks off. Once work on ‘Wolverine’ is complete, he’ll immediately jump back into ‘Machine’.
