79-year-old legendary Italian horror filmmaker Dario Argento is set to direct the TV series “Longinus,” his first project since 2012 and most ambitious TV project to date.
Set between the French Alps of Grenoble and the Siena of the Palio, the story involved mysterious murders, esoteric elements and ancient enigmas. The title refers to the Roman soldier who pierced the side of the crucified Jesus with a lance.
BIM Production and Publispei will produce the series which is said to be an “auteur series for the international market” and will be “suspended between the real and the supernatural”.
Argento is known for his iconic classic works such as “The Bird With the Crystal Plumage,” “Suspiria,” “Tenebre,” “Opera” and “Deep Red”.
