Starz has unveiled the trailer for “Now Apocalypse,” its new half-hour bohemian sci-fi comedy series which hails from celebrated queer filmmaking icon Gregg Araki (“Mysterious Skin,” “The Doom Generation”) along with Steven Soderbergh and “Magic Mike XXL” helmer Gregory Jacobs who are all executive producing.
As typical for Araki, it’s a colorful, surreal and fun coming-of-age tale dealing with young twentysomething Americans exploring their sexual fluidity along with what looks like something of an alien invasion. Avan Jogia stars as Ulysses who, along with his friends, are on a quest in pursuit of love, sex and fame all while dealing with premonitions hinting at a dark and monstrous conspiracy.
Kelli Berglund, Beau Mirchoff, Roxane Mesquida and Tyler Posey co-star. Araki co-wrote and directed all ten half-hour episodes of the vibrant and fast-moving series which premieres Sunday, March 10th.
