Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films have announced that a December 16th 2022 release date has been set for the “Aquaman” sequel.
The sequel will bring back star Jason Momoa, but almost all other details are under wraps at this point including director and other cast mates. It is confirmed that David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who co-wrote the first film, is back for the follow-up.
James Wan and Peter Safran will produce, but whether Wan returns to direct is the big question and unknown at this time.
The first film opened in December and made $1.14 billion worldwide at the box-office. This sequel is not to be confused with the proposed spin-off film focusing on deadly amphibious The Trench creatures, that project has not set any production or release dates yet.
