Apple Orders Sci-Fi Drama “See”

Apple has given a straight-to-series order for “See,” a new science fiction drama from “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight.

The project is described as a world-building drama set in the future, but further specifics are under wraps. Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content are producing the series with “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “Red Sparrow” helmer Francis Lawrence set to direct.

Knight and Lawrence will serve as executive producers alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kristen Campo. The project marks the fourth scripted series ordered by Apple since the launch of the tech giant’s new video-content arm.

It follows on from a TV morning show drama with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, the reboot of the classic anthology series “Amazing Stories,” and a sci-fi drama about the global space race from Ronald D. Moore. An adaptation of “Are You Sleeping” with Octavia Spencer is also in the works.
