Apple Getting Into Original TV Programming

Streaming is where the future or TV is at with almost one hundred series aired in 2016 originating from one of the original streaming only platforms like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon.

Now, there may be a new player in town. According to MacRumors, Apple is looking to produce original scripted TV shows which would be available to stream on Apple Music. The site cites HBO’s “Westworld” and Netflix’s “Stranger Things” as comparisons for what Apple is aiming to produce for its platform – namely high quality, intelligent genre fare.

The site claims the first of the series will allegedly roll out by the end of the year, and Apple is potentially looking to produce original movies albeit much further down the track. The plan is NOT to compete with Netflix, rather to set its Apple Music service apart from its main music streaming subscription service competitor Spotify.
