Apollo 18 Delayed Eight Months

The Weinstein Company has shaken up its 2011/2012 release date schedule with Dimension Films pushing back its found footage sci-fi feature “Apollo 18” from an April 22nd to a January 6th release date.

The studio raised eyebrows with its breakneck pace to cast, shoot, edit and release the film all within a sub-six month time frame. This dumping of the film on the first weekend of January is not a good sign, but could give the filmmakers more time to make some adjustments.

The studio has also announced a two month delay for the sequel “Piranha 3DD” which will now hit on Thanksgiving weekend, November 23rd to be precise.

Two other films, the Paul Rudd Sundance comedy “Our Idiot Brother” (new title), and “I Don’t Know How She Does It” have been set for an August 26th and September 16th release respectively.
