Apatow Signs Three-Picture Deal

Judd Apatow (“Knocked Up,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”) has signed to write and direct a further three films for Universal Pictures says the trades.

The deal, which came together on the release of the third film (“Funny People”) he directed for the studio, also allows Apatow to produce projects elsewhere.

No projects, which will also be written by Apatow, have been set. Though he’s produced a lot, Apatow has generally directed a film every two years – meaning he’ll likely be with the studio through 2015.
