Antin Helms High School-Set Musical

Steven Antin (“Gloria,” “Chasing Papi”) will write and direct an untitled music-driven project for Disney Pictures along with music and musical producer Scott Sanders reports Variety.

Antin said the title and plot of the musical were being kept under wraps at the request of Disney, but the action is set at a high school and is geared toward a Disney audience (sound familiar?).

When he directs it is an issue as he’s tossing up between this and Screen Gems musical “Burlesque” which “Juno” scribe Diablo Cody just did a re-write of his script on. It’s expected he’ll decided soon which film he directs next. Whichever one is picked will begin filming in the Fall.

Antin and Sanders previously worked on the short-lived TV series “Young Americans” which launched the careers of Kate Bosworth, Ian Somerhalder, Ed Quinn and Matt Czuchry.
