Bruce Lee Enterprises CEO Shannon Lee is teaming with producers Lawrence Grey and Janet Yang for a biopic about Shannon’s father and martial arts icon Bruce Lee.
The project will mark the first biopic to be made with the full cooperation of Bruce Lee’s family, the previous 1993 biopic “Dragon” was based on a book by Lee’s widow.
Shannon Lee says the previous films have lacked a complete understanding of her father’s philosophies, artistry and beliefs. As a result, they’re generating their own material that hopes to dive into more depth about the man than ever before.
Though dying at just 32, Bruce Lee helped to create and popularize martial arts action films around the world – a genre that’s still popular today.
Ben Everard will also produce the new film which is one of a number of film and television projects in development from Bruce Lee Entertainment.
