Annie Potts Returns For New “Ghostbusters”?

Annie Potts Will Return For New Ghostbusters

Beloved comedy actress Annie Potts, who played perpetually overworked secretary Janine Melnitz in the first two “Ghostbusters” films, has indicated she’ll return for the new one.

Potts confirmed to KTLA5 (via JoBlo) that she’s up for coming back, saying: “I have heard some things. If it’s true, what I’ve heard – yeah, I think it’s gonna happen. I think I will.”

Potts had a cameo as Vanessa the Desk Clerk in the 2016 reboot which this film will ignore. She joins a cast that includes Mckenna Grace, Carrie Coon and Finn Wolfhard along with likely much of the original team like Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

Jason Reitman will direct the new film, taking over from his father Ivan Reitman who helmed the first two. The new “Ghostbusters” opens on July 10th 2020.
