The James Bond distribution rights situation has been sorted out as Eon Productions and MGM have set plans for the next film in the series – Daniel Craig’s fifth and likely final outing in the role.
Universal Pictures has scored the film’s international and home entertainment rights, while domestic distribution will be handled by MGM and Annapurna. The film will first be released in the UK on October 25th 2019, and in the U.S. on November 8th 2019.
Danny Boyle is officially set to direct a film which John Hodge scripted based on an idea by Boyle. Production on the new film begins December 3rd at Pinewood Studios in the UK.
The new deal puts the MGM logo front and center as distributor on a Bond film for the first time in nearly two decades.
