Annapurna Sets Cheney & Hammer Films Dates

Annapurna has announced a number of release dates with Adam McKay’s Dick Cheney film set to open in limited release on December 14th ahead of a December 21st wide expansion.

The film stars Christian Bale playing Dick Cheney, Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush, Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, and Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld. Bale shaved his head, bleached his eyebrows and put on 40 pounds for the role.

Additionally, the company has set a June 29th release for Boots Riley’s dark social comedy “Sorry to Bother You” which they recently acquired at Sundance.

Set in an alternate present-day version of Oakland, telemarketer Cassius Green (Lakeith Stanfield) discovers a magical key to professional success which propels him into a macabre universe. Tessa Thompson, Armie Hammer, David Cross, Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, Danny Glover, Steven Yeun, and Omari Hardwick also star.

Finally, Babak Anvariā€™s untitled horror movie starring Armie Hammer will be released on March 29th 2019. Hammer plays a New Orleans bartender who, after picking up a phone left behind at his bar, becomes the subject of disturbing and mysterious things happening.
