David F. Sandberg, the director of the upcoming sequel to 2014’s “The Conjuring” spin-off “Annabelle,” has used his Twitter to release the first photo from the production along with revealing that the film’s first ‘announcement trailer’ is set to go online tomorrow.
“Annabelle 2” follows a dollmaker and his wife, who welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, several years after the tragic death of their little girl. The nun and these girls soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle. Gary Dauberman penned the script.
Sandberg is coming off this Summer’s past hit “Lights Out” and has assembled a strong cast for the “Annabelle” follow-up including Miranda Otto, Anthony LaPaglia, Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Samara Lee and Tayler Buck.
“Annabelle 2” is set to open May 19th next year.
