Ann-Margret Joins King’s “Mr. Mercedes” Series

The legendary Ann-Margret has joined David E. Kelley’s forthcoming TV series adaptation of Stephen King’s 2014 novel “Mr. Mercedes” for the AT&T Audience Network.

The story follows a demented killer (Harry Treadaway) who taunts retired police detective Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails.

This forces the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again. Kelly Lynch also stars.

Ann-Margret will play will play Ida Silver who is described as the prickly, outspoken, self-serving, intimidating and vulnerable next-door neighbor of Hodges. Kelly Lynch (Magic City).

Kelley will serve as showrunner while Jack Bender (“Lost”) is set to direct. The project received a straight to series order in May.
