Animated Wonder, Spidey, Ant-Man Coming

With New York Comic Con having wrapped, a bunch of animated projects based on Marvel and DC properties have been announced. Here’s the breakdown of which ones are on the way:

Wonder Woman
Warner Bros. Animation supervising producer James Tucker confirms that Warners are looking into another “Wonder Woman” film for the DC animated universe: “We discussed with Warner video, and they have Wonder Woman on their radar in some form or fashion.”

Disney XD announced plans to premiere a new animated series called “Marvel’s Spider-Man” in 2017. It sounds like the film will take over from “Ultimate Spider-Man” which wraps up with a series finale in January. The new series is a reboot and follows: “an unsure (but courageous) teen who has to figure out how to be a Super Hero from the very beginning.”

Disney and Marvel are working with Passion Animation Studios to bring a series of animated “Ant-Man” shorts to Disney XD in 2017. Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach will be directing the series, which will feature Josh Keaton as Ant-Man and Melissa Rauch as The Wasp.

Avengers: Secret Wars
Hayley Atwell will reprise her role of Peggy Carter, at least in voice anyway, four the upcoming fourth season of the “Avengers” cartoon on Disney XD. Dubbed ‘Secret Wars’ for its new season, Atwell appears in an episode that will see Carter teamining up with Captain America and Iron Man to stop Kang the Conqueror.
