Popular smartphone game “Angry Birds” is getting an animated series according to the game designers Rovio in France this week.
The BBC reports that the app will be made into 52 short episodes that will be released on “all possible platforms”.
“I am happy to say we are going to roll out a weekly animation series this year of short format content. It’s a great way for us to connect with our existing fans, to give them more and keep them engaged” says Rovio’s head of animation Nick Dorra.
Dorra added that a film based on the game, first announced last year, would not be released until 2015 at the earliest. The game itself has been downloaded more than 700 million times across all platforms.
