Popular iPhone and iPad game Angry Birds might soon be coming to a TV and/or film near you reports Variety.
Games creater, the Finland-based Rovio, is looking to expand the property into long-form cartoons on either TV or the big screen and are favoring claymation style projects along the lines of Aardman Animations “Wallace and Gromit” series and “Chicken Run”.
The game itself has the user trying to take out a group of pigs who have been stealing the birds’ eggs. Rovio plans to launch sequels to the game and expand it to other phone and game machine formats in the next few months.
The game has been downloaded over 6.5 million times. A test reel with the game’s characters in animated format has already been created and seen by nearly six million people.
